These Terms & Conditions apply to all quotations, orders, installations, servicing and repairs carried out by Droitwich Stairlifts. By accepting a quotation or placing an order, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. Definitions

Company, we, our and us means Droitwich Stairlifts.

Customer, you and your means the person placing the order.

Equipment means the stairlift, rail and any associated products supplied by us.

2. Quotations

All quotations are provided without obligation and remain valid for 30 days, unless otherwise stated.

Prices are based on the information available at the time of quotation. Should the technical survey identify circumstances that differ from those originally advised, we reserve the right to revise the quotation before the order is accepted.

3. Technical Survey

Where required, a technical survey will be carried out before installation.

The survey confirms:

  • suitability of the staircase
  • final measurements
  • electrical requirements
  • rail design (where applicable)
  • installation requirements.

Should unforeseen structural or electrical work be identified, we will discuss any additional costs with you before proceeding.

4. Placing an Order

An order is accepted once:

  • you have approved the quotation; and
  • any required deposit has been received.

No bespoke equipment will be manufactured or ordered until the order has been accepted.

5. Deposits

Curved Stairlifts

Curved stairlifts require a bespoke rail manufactured specifically for your staircase.

A non-refundable deposit is required following the technical survey and before manufacture begins.

As each rail is custom-made, this deposit cannot be refunded once manufacturing has commenced.

Straight Stairlifts

Refurbished straight stairlifts do not normally require a deposit unless otherwise agreed in writing.

6. Payment

Refurbished Straight Stairlifts

Full payment is due on the day of installation.

Bespoke Curved Stairlifts

The remaining balance is due on the day of installation.

7. Ownership

Ownership of all equipment supplied remains with Droitwich Stairlifts until payment has been received in full.

8. VAT Relief

Many stairlift installations qualify for VAT relief.

Where applicable, customers will be asked to complete the relevant HMRC declaration confirming eligibility.

If VAT relief is incorrectly claimed, any VAT subsequently found to be payable remains the responsibility of the customer.

9. Installation

We will agree an installation date with you as soon as your equipment becomes available.

Installation dates are estimates and, whilst every effort is made to meet them, they cannot be guaranteed.

Delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including supplier delays, transport disruption or severe weather, may occasionally occur.

Most installations are completed within a few hours.

Before leaving, we will demonstrate the safe operation of your stairlift and answer any questions you may have.

10. Customer Responsibilities

The customer agrees to:

  • provide safe access to the property
  • ensure a suitable electricity supply is available
  • inform us of any known structural issues
  • keep the installation area clear on the day of installation
  • ensure someone aged 18 or over is present during installation.

If installation cannot proceed because access has not been provided or the installation area is unsuitable, we reserve the right to recover any reasonable costs incurred.

11. Cancellation

Customers purchasing within their home usually have cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

Where you expressly request that bespoke manufacture begins during the cancellation period, and provide your written consent, your right to cancel may be affected and any deposit paid may become non-refundable as permitted by law.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights.

12. Warranty

All refurbished stairlifts supplied by Droitwich Stairlifts are professionally reconditioned, fully serviced and safety tested before installation.

Your warranty details will be provided at the time of purchase.

The warranty does not cover:

  • accidental damage
  • misuse
  • neglect
  • unauthorised repairs
  • damage caused by external factors.

13. Servicing & Repairs

Regular servicing is recommended to maintain the safe and reliable operation of your stairlift.

Where servicing or repair work identifies additional faults requiring replacement parts, we will provide a quotation before carrying out any chargeable work.

Emergency call-outs may be subject to separate charges unless covered by an existing warranty or service agreement.

14. Refurbished Stairlifts

Our refurbished stairlifts are professionally reconditioned, fully safety checked and tested before installation.

Whilst minor cosmetic signs of previous use may remain, these do not affect the safety, reliability or operation of the stairlift.

15. Limitation of Liability

Nothing within these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or any liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Subject to this, our liability shall be limited to the value of the equipment supplied.

We shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss.

16. Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for delays or failure to perform our obligations where caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including supplier shortages, severe weather, transport disruption, industrial action or other unforeseen circumstances.
